Malu Hendrikszen | Mixed Media Artist & Illustrator

Through art, I learned to reconnect with myself and the world around me

My Story

I’m Malu (she/her), a disabled artist from The Netherlands. My art explores the contrast between fragile human life and the power of nature, shaped by my experience of living with a brain injury and speech disorder. I prefer to work with mixed media: gouache, watercolor pencils and pastels. I tell visual stories of life after illness, moments of loss, beauty, and connection with others when my words fail.
