Life after surgery didn’t feel like a fresh start. Of course it didn’t. It felt like I had to rebuild everything I knew, pick up the pieces, and put them down in a completely different place. Plus, when someone has poked around in your brain, it also makes sense that you don’t quite feel like yourself anymore.
